what should I know before I book?
La Cabaña de Lola: Peaceful, Sustainable, and Full of Charm
Welcome to La Cabaña de Lola, a cosy and eco-conscious cabin nestled in the peaceful northern countryside of Lanzarote. Fully powered by solar energy, this space blends simplicity with comfort and invites you to slow down, reconnect with nature, and breathe deeply. We also reuse greywater from the kitchen and bathroom to nourish our garden—part of our commitment to sustainable living.
Important Notes Before Booking:
Since 2017, we’ve welcomed hundreds of happy guests, always with your well-being in mind. To ensure this is the right fit for you, here are a few important things to consider:
Compact Space: The cabin is small and minimalist, with limited storage. You’ll find a double bed with space underneath for suitcases, a small dresser, and a few shelves and hangers. We recommend packing light and avoiding large luggage.
Quiet Location: Located in a rural area just 1 km from the nearest village and the coast, the cabin offers tranquility while still being a short walk from small shops and local life. The nearest bus stop is about 2 km away.
Solar Power: The cabin runs entirely on solar energy. This means devices with high electricity use (like hair dryers, straighteners, or electric bikes) can’t be used. Phones, laptops, and cameras can be charged without a problem.
Hot Water: The shower is solar-heated. On sunny days (which Lanzarote offers most of the year), there’s plenty of hot water—especially between 11:00 AM and 6:00 PM. On cloudy days, the water may be cooler.
Kitchen: Inside, you’ll find a small kitchen with a gas hob, fridge, basic cooking utensils, and a dining table. It’s a simple but functional space for preparing meals, working, or drawing.
Toilet: Please do not flush toilet paper, sanitary products, or anything other than waste, as it may block the pipes—this is a common issue across the island.
Water: Tap water is desalinated and not suitable for drinking, but it’s fine for showering, washing, and cooking. We recommend bringing bottled water for drinking.
Nature & Animals: Occasionally, our friendly cat Lola—or another curious feline—may stop by. If you connect, she might even stay a few days. If you prefer to keep them out, just be sure to keep the doors closed.
Privacy & Access: Although the cabin is private, we retain right of way to access a small storage room nearby if needed. This happens rarely, and we always try to be discreet and respectful of your space.
We’ve created La Cabaña de Lola with love as a peaceful and down-to-earth retreat in nature. It’s more like a comfortable countryside cabin than a luxury apartment. If you prefer more space or amenities, feel free to explore our other listings like Casa Tabaiba. But if you’re seeking simplicity, quiet, and a place to slow down, this may be exactly what you’re looking for. We’d love to welcome you.
